In a bid to cater to the growing demand for healthy alternatives, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., an American chain of fast-casual restaurants, has reportedly introduced a cilantro-lime cauliflower rice bowl that will be compliant with its Vegetarian, Keto, Vegan, Paleo, and Whole30® menu.
Chipotle customers will be able to order the brown and white rice bowl for an additional USD 2 per order. To promote this newly launched product, the company reportedly claimed to offer the rice bowl for free on orders of USD 10 or above.
It is worth mentioning that Chipotle tested this rice bowl in 55 locations across Wisconsin and Denver after realizing the increasing demand for the option. However, the newly launched product will be available for a limited timeframe, cited sources close to the company.
Customers have been craving more plant-based alternatives that are in line with the recent health trends and highlight the benefits of real organic food, said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle. He added that the company is excited to offer cauliflower rice across the nation, further supporting its customers to achieve their healthy lifestyle and diet goals.
Chipotle’s cauliflower rice consists of four carbs per serving which fit within Vegan, Paleo, Whole30, and Keto dietary restrictions, sources claimed. To further capitalize on healthy food options and aid customers’ New Year's wellness resolutions, the company is also launching a new ‘Lifestyle Bowls’ designed particularly for followers of vegetarian, Whole30, Keto, and vegan diet. Reportedly, these apparent products will be available only via digital orders.
For the record, Chipotle's digital sales accelerated amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, making up over half of the sales in 2020. The Colorado-based restaurant company is currently planning to invest in developing more digital-only orders ‘Chipotlanes’ as well as double its locations across the region over the ensuing years.
