HARMAN launches RCP & expands its remote patient monitoring solution

Harman International, an independent subsidiary of Samsung Electronics that connects products and solutions for consumer, automotive and enterprise markets, has announced the launch of HARMAN RCP, a remote patient monitoring solution that permits access to health data by linking with a wide range of non-medical and medical devices.

For the record, RCP is the latest offering by HARMAN for healthcare which could empower providers to digitize their processes as well as services so as to keep in pace with patient and market demands.

It is built on Intel’s software and hardware platform for remote patient monitoring enabling healthcare providers in order to leverage data coherently throughout various use cases from chronic disease management and patient care services to Aging-with-Independence needs along with finding insights for health programs of patient.

Sumit Chauhan, SVP and GM of Digital Transformation Solutions, Connected Services, HARMAN, stated that the company is committed towards expanding and investing in their remote elderly and patient care offering. By operating their solution with Intel’s architecture, the company could improve their portfolio and capabilities in this vital area of digital healthcare.

Chauhan added that RCP would enhance patient results driven by innovation along with transforming the delivery of virtual care.

As per Dave Ryan, GM, Health & Life Sciences, Intel, health systems as well as service providers need more mountable solutions to easily deploy telehealth and remote care throughout all living situations and disease states.

He said that the company is thrilled to be partnering with HARMAN to innovate technology platforms that would enable remote care to become the standard, permitting health systems to securely, cost-effectively as well as suitably care for people in their homes.

Reportedly, both Intel and HARMAN have signed a conclusive deal, wherein Intel has licensed the assets of Remote Patient Monitoring Platform to HARMAN. With this, HARMAN would continue to develop the platform along with product development and engineering.
