Milking once a day lowers stress levels in cows and gives milk with higher fat and protein content in the milk. The Australian company Gelato Messina has announced that it has stepped into the milk industry with $8 per liter bottle of milk, milked from its cows fed with pea. The new Messina milk costs twice as much as other well-known milk brands and will be among the most expensive milk brands across the globe. According to the Brinkwire, the color of the milk is slightly yellow. It has high protein content and 7 percent fat, which is twice that of standard supermarket milk. Donato Toce, Head Chef, Messina, reportedly stated that the milk comes from some of the best cared cows in Australia which makes it costlier. Milking once a day lowers stress levels in cows and gives milk with higher fat and protein content in the milk, he further added. Reportedly, the cows are milked only once in a day and fed with sorghum, clover, peas, grass and maize. Gelato Messina has begun to use the Messina Dairy milk in all of its gelatos since last few months. Now the firm has collected a large enough supply of milk for selling it by itself. The milk has only been made available across selected stores, including Bondie, Roseberry, Tramsheds and Fitzroy. Gelato Messina has expected to increase the supply depending upon the customer demand. The volume of the produced milk is reportedly less by around 40 percent than other companies get by milking 2-3 times a day. For the record, Gelato Messina uses jersey cows for high quality milk with high protein and cream content and is full of flavor. The company has over 300 jersey cows and number is increasing depending upon the number of calves born throughout the year.
