Kolkata based leading Indian hotel chain ITC Hotels has reportedly announced its partnership with Indian online food delivery platform Swiggy. The move has been initiated to facilitate people to order their favourite dishes online and getting them delivered at their doorstep.
As part of this association, Swiggy has decided to introduce a “no contact” delivery system for pre-paid orders which includes a delivery agent leaving the package at the doorstep instead of following the conventional in-person exchange practice.
According to Anil Chadha, the Chief Operating Officer at ITC Hotels, ITC’s collaboration with Swiggy is bound to help the company in delivering its culinary experiences through Swiggy’s advanced distribution network. He has further committed this partnership to delivering a responsible guest experience.
For the record, phase 1 of this initiative includes the commencement of home delivery from ITC’s hotels across India comprising the ITC Maurya in New Delhi, ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, ITC Kohenur in Hyderabad, ITC Grand Chola in Chennai, ITC Windsor in Bengaluru, ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata, ITC Rajputana in Jaipur, ITC Grand Goa in Goa and Welcomhotel in Bengaluru. Phase 2 comprises the addition of more ITC Hotels and properties to Swiggy’s home delivery initiative.
As per sources, ITC Hotels has stated that it has sought the implementation of strict measures and protocols including compulsory temperature checks for its chefs and food & beverage personnel. The take-out counter at every ITC Hotel has also been furnished with hand sanitizers and thermometers to maintain the essential health parameters of the local delivery personnel.
Vivek Sundar, the COO of Swiggy, has stated that Swiggy’s partnership with ITC Hotels will provide customers with curated gourmet dishes from the finest restaurants in ITC’s hotel chain through the Swiggy app.
ITC Hotels has also cited this collaboration with Swiggy as an initiative to reach a larger customer base.
