Jollibee launches eighth Canadian outlet with first Saskatchewan store

The Filipino fast-food chain is expected to offer a good number of line ups
The store could be widely accepted by a large Filipino community in the province

Jollibee, a multinational fast food in chain of restaurants from Philippines, has reportedly opened its first restaurant in Regina, Saskatchewan recently. It is expected that the lineups for the restaurant, known for its renowned sweeter spaghetti, crispy chicken and palabok, which is mainly a dish of shrimp, sauce, egg, and rice, will commence soon.

Rey Caparino, Pinoy Talk host at Access TV and an immigrant from the Philippines stated that the launch will be helpful for the Filipino community living in Canada to satiate their cravings. The community has been anticipating the joint to come to Canada and they are looking forward to sharing it with their fellow Canadian citizens.

Caparino added that there will be some food such as fried chicken and spaghetti that will be familiar to the Canadians. He further emphasized that spaghetti and pasta, in particular, shall be a familiar food on the menu but with a sweeter taste.

Reportedly, dishes called ‘Yumburgers’ and peach mango happen to be on the menu at the restaurant and is the first of its kind found in Saskatchewan. As per the 2016 Census from Statistics Canada, Regina harbors over 7,000 immigrants from the Philippines.

The population of the Filipino community in Saskatoon is numbered at over 9,000 people and over 26,000 in the state of Saskatchewan. Apparently, the first Jollibee had opened in 2016 in Winnipeg and had a total of seven locations in Canada. The franchise already has been operating two of its stores in Alberta, three of them in Ontario and about two in Manitoba.

Caparino said the franchise is the pride of Filipinos and everyone in Regina has been looking forward to it.
