Krispy Kreme announces nationwide delivery service starting Leap Day

Krispy Kreme, an American doughnut company, has recently announced its plan to introduce its first-ever, online doughnuts delivery service across the United States.

With an aim to kick off the new delivery service, Krispy Kreme will start delivering doughnuts from its 350 outlets across the United States, from 29th February (Leap Day). Consumers can make orders via Krispy Kreme app or the company’s website, while delivery range may vary from stores to stores.

In 2018, Krispy Kreme began testing delivery services to some selected locations in the U.S. The new services can be considered as a large-scale expansion of the doughnut chain, where consumers can order doughnuts or will get access to every single location of Krispy Kreme nationwide.

The delivery service is expected to create promising experiences as consumers can send doughnuts to their friends by having the treats delivered to their doorsteps.

To mark the launch, Krispy Kreme will deliver a gift of free doughnuts to expectant parents, nurses, doctors, and other maternity ward staffs in various hospitals in the U.S. on Leap Day. Expectant parents who are located within 10 miles of the Krispy Kreme location can make a social media post after their babies are born, by updating the post with the hospital name, tagging the company, as well as hashtag KrispyKremeSpecialDelivery, following which the donut chain will celebrate the babies that are born on Leap Day and surprise some participants by delivering 5 dozen of free doughnuts.

Krispy Kreme has also recently launched a pair of Butterfinger doughnuts with peanut butter chocolate and candy pieces. The upcoming innovation of Krispy Kreme’s online delivery service creation comes along the heels of McDonald’s latest breakfast creation using Donut Sticks as well as Dunkin’ way of attracting consumers with its new meat-less Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich and its coffee brands.
