LG unveils Velvet 5G in Europe, with plans to further launch globally

LG, a South Korean multinational electronics company, has reportedly launched the Velvet 5G, its latest premium smartphone, in Europe. The company has been offering a new range of consumer electronics across the globe, including smartphones, ACs, and Washing Machines, among others.

LG had previously unveiled the LG Velvet in South Korea in May 2020. The product is currently available for sale on the official online store of the company in Italy. It is also planning to launch the product in other regions such as Spain, Poland, Italy, Hungary, and Germany.

The new Velvet 5G will be priced at €650. However, people who pre-order the phone prior to the end of June will receive other items worth 400 euros, including Tone Free TWS earbuds, a protective cover, and Dual Screen accessory of the LG company. Additionally, the product features an OLED display of 6.9 inches, with an aspect ratio of 20.5:9 and a resolution capacity of 2460 x 1080 pixels. Its display makes use of a waterdrop notch, with a 16 megapixels camera.

The most enhanced feature of the new phone is its Snapdragon 765G mobile platform, which enables the smartphone to support 5G with its built-in modem. It consists of 8-GB RAM and UFS 2.1 storage of 128-GB that is expandable to an additional 2TB through the usage of a MicroSD card slot. At the rear end, there is a triple camera design that represents a falling raindrop. The camera setup of the new phone includes an 8-MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 48-MP primary camera, and a 5-MP depth sensor.

The new smartphone is expected to launch shortly in North & South America, the MEA (Middles East and Africa), and Asia. However, the company might reportedly launch the 4G version of the smartphone in some of these regions.
