The acquisition would allow Tierra farm to sell organic seasoning as well as freshly flavored nuts to customers.
US-based organic food group, Tierra farm, Inc. has recently announced the acquisition of Pennsylvania’s organic spice company Señor Sabor. For the record, Señor Sabor is a local producer of certified organic spices and seasonings that are targeted towards retailer and food manufacturers.
According to a statement, Tierra farm said that the acquisition of Señor Sabor is the firm’s second deal in 2019, following purchase of Power of 3 nutrition (PO3), a Maine-based firm that specializes in protein-rich seed blends as seasoning in smoothies, salads, curries and other dishes.
In addition, the New York-based manufacturer said that their firm is planning to launch eight to ten original seasonings before the end of 2019, including its Everything but the Bagel seasoning.
Reportedly, Todd Kletter, CEO, Tierra farm Inc., said that their firm, following the purchase of Power of 3 nutrition, has recognized the dry seasoning market to be an organic brand extension for its core organic food product line.
He said that the acquisition of Señor Sabor would allow them to sell freshly flavored nuts for snacking as well as organic seasoning which they could use as distinct food toppings and seasonings.
For the uninitiated, Tierra farm is a certified-organic manufacturer and distributor of dried fruits, chocolate, granola, seeds, coffee and nuts. The company only handles certified-organic products which are produced without the need of chemical fertilizers or synthetic pesticides. It also offers dry roasted seeds, grind butter, blend trail mixes, cover nuts and fruits in chocolate, and roast fair-trade coffee.
Reliable sources cite that products made by PO3 will be marketed under the brand Tierra farm, Señor Sabor. Meanwhile, financial details of this acquisition are yet to be revealed.
