Chicago based Groupon reportedly announced that it has acquired San Francisco based Presence AI to strengthen the company’s present booking abilities and boost its development. The terms of the acquisitions have not been disclosed. Sarah Butterfass, Chief product officer of Groupon was reportedly quoted stating that the company is pleased to welcome onboard the team of Presence AI and their booking technology. Groupon aims at enhancing the experience offering the customers more reasons to buy their goods and products through Groupon. For the uninitiated, Presence AI, formed in 2015 by Michel Meyer, delivers a configurable virtual assistant that works closely with healthcare, beauty, and wellness dealers’ scheduling software to accept and manage bookings. The company’s technology has been able to reschedule or confirm appointments independently and remind the people to book again and solve the customer queries at the same time. As per trusted sources, the abilities portrayed by Presence served as a traction to Groupon as it focuses to invest further in reservable experiences. Looking into the future for global booking for various services, the company expanded its bookable stock to 12% year over year and booked for a huge number of eaters, shoppers, spa visitors and many more last year. Meanwhile, Michael Meyer, Founder of Presence AI cited that the company was excited to join Groupon and continue to transform the customer interaction via AI. Presence AI has been annually saving the dealer’s time and generating additional revenues with over more than 3 million text messages generated.
