Siemens Healthineers AG, a Germany-based medical technology company, has reportedly been selected by Quest Diagnostics as the preferred supplier for its immunoassay testing with Atellica® Solution. Sources cite that once fully realized, this would be the biggest deployment of the Atellica Solution across the globe till date and would strengthen the company’s position as the market leader in the U.S. For a record, Quest Diagnostics is one leading provider of diagnostic information services across the globe. Reportedly, after the successful implementation of sequenced phases, the collaboration estimates Quest Diagnostics deploying around 120 Atellica® Solution immunoassay clinical chemistry analyzers across 19 core and esoteric laboratories across the United States. Moreover, a highly automated Clifton-based Quest lab will consist of Atellica Solution Immunoassay Analyzers linked to an Inpeco FlexLab TM automated system for a multidisciplinary, high-throughput testing solution developed to significantly increase productivity, reduce unwanted variations, decrease turnaround time, and lower operational costs. The new flagship would be completed in 2021. Claims are made that the Atellica Solution offers a flexible solution, high throughput, and quality clinical capabilities needed to serve Quest’s patients and providers. Deepak Nath, Ph.D., President of Laboratory Diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers, said that they deliver quality and comprehensive in vitro diagnostics portfolio that has proven attractive to major laboratory providers worldwide. The company’s leadership in automation and workflow is resonating with laboratories across the globe and fueling the adoption of the Atellica Solution. He added that the company’s highly scalable offering with Atellica Solution and a broad immunoassay test menu with a proven assay performance would provide required clinical outcomes to Quest Diagnostics. As per Jim Davis, Exec. Vice President, General Diagnostics of Quest Diagnostics, their company’s strategic partnership with Siemens Healthineers has led to the development of flexible solutions that would aid the company’s current workflow and cost savings. Adding further, Davis said that they are looking forward to implementing this solution throughout its laboratory network.
